Agree with you, i don't like either. Next thing you know they become your cousin and in the end you are the one who have to break it up and be a bad guy because your privacy has been broken numerously and you had been given away lots of sugar and oil, if you know what i mean.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not cheap or cold, just hate to have my door knocked after hours plus lots of bad previous experiences...

Just a thought to the lady up here,
you just can not make your life miserable because of one incident may take place in future, besides i don't know my neighbor's but if any of them calls for help, i wont reject

I live in a large apartment building. i manage it actually, and I talk to everyone in the building. I find they are for the most part very pleasant nice people who offer there help all the time for things. I think they make this a nice place to live in and I like them. There is a lady to take the keys when we are not here, a lady who offers to look after my baby if im busy, there is a man to help with the snow if i need..there are offers to knock on the door anytime we need a hand x2..there are lots of little baby things for my daughter..there ar efriendly people all over..I like to talk to my neighbors.

I have a neighbor who introduced herself when she moved in about 3 months ago, but no we don't talk to one another. Then I had these other neighbors who live down stairs and they are always slamming doors upon until 12:00 or 1:00 in the morning. I don't complain about them to the apartment manager...it's pointless. I really don't have much to say to anybody really, but when I see them we'll say a quick "Hello, how you're doing" sort of thing & keep on going.

Yes, we do. We know all their names, and we "visit" in our yards from time to time. We're fortunate to have great people living so close. We give the man next door fresh vegetables and fish and he occasionally mows our lawn or snow-blows our sidewalks and driveway. I know many people do not have a good relationship with their neighbors and that definitely makes for some miserable times, especially if you live in an apartment. Hang in there!

No, I live in an apartment complex by myself and I wave if I see them, but talking, no. I feel its safer. I dont want people knocking at my door asking to borrow things and stuff like that. Having people in my apartment. Sometimes your kindness may be mistaken for weakeness and people will try to take advantage of you. So no, I dont.

We live in a duplex that is owned by my mother in law. They live in one side and we rent the other side from them. The house in front of us we get along very well with him and his roommate. He actually gave us a minivan that he had sitting in his yard. There are other moms in the neighborhood that I get together for coffee with and our kids play and we take them on walks together.

Yes I talk to my neighbors. I see neighbors as my immediate family, because if I have an emergency before my real family can come to my rescue the neighbors are there first. So you see ,you should try to have a good relationship with your neighbors.
