I made caramel apples and wrapped them up in cellophane and tulle with bows on them. They were a huge hit. I personally think if you're going to do favors, do something edible. People don't usually remember other stuff and no one really wants a votive candle with someone else's wedding date and names!

At a friends wedding they had chocolate suckers in the shapes of pears. They were wrapped in clear cellophane so you could see the pear inside. Then on the stick they had a little tag tied on with a bow that read "Joel and Trish, quite the "pair!"
It was so cute and it stuck with me after about 6 years so it must have been good. Im sure you could make the suckers yourself if you went to a craft store and purchased the materials. Otherwise you could go to your local candy shop and see what they have. Have fun and good luck!

We have 3 home made favours! I was having so much fun i couldn't decide!
One is a kissing wand, which is basically a wooden dowel wrapped in ribbon with bells (to ring instead of clinking glasses)
Second are favour tins (using watchmakers tins...same size just half the prices...check hobby stores) filled with pink M&M's (our last name will be M) and navy jelly beans (our colors)
Lastly, more for decor on the tables, we got Black river rocks and silver markers and wrote our wedding date on one side and a word such as blessing, love, wish, family, hope etc etc on the other side!
Every supply we got at mainly the dollar store or Michael's!
Good luck
, google lots and you will find tons of ideas!!

why not get an engagement photo and have it made into a book mark with the wedding date on it. Have it laminated, this can be done at most office supply/ copy centers and laminating is not that expensive, and to get reprints is fairly cheap too I think, maybe include the couple's favorite quote or their "song"

we had approx. 120 guest at our wedding. about 2 mo. before we started to make candles out of 4'' clay pots and stuck river rock to them from our favorite river. a great way to bond with my future wife, and i cant tell ya how cool it is to stop by a friends house and see the stoned pot sitting there 4 years after our day! we had a blast making them, it just took some time!

Clear plastic spoons: dark chocolate and white chocolate. Melt them both, dip in dark c. first, then drizzle with white c. wrap in cello wrap and they make great little coffee dippers!! My cousin did them at her wedding and I never forgot them!!
