Moses allowed divorce, Jesus disallowed it and also allowed it, Paul allowed it, and Ezra actually commanded it to appease God (Ezra 10). How is an honest Christian supposed to know what to do in this area?

1. God endorses marriage. He created it. Gen 2:24
2. God only allows divorce when unfaithfulness is involved. The covenant was then broken.
3. Paul wrote to the Corinthians about being yoked to nonbelievers and the problems it causes. So all can live in peace, Paul "recommended" divorce.
4. Moses dealt under the law. He was in a very difficult situation with the Israelites and the stiff necked people.

In Ezra, Ezra told the Israelites to divorce their foreign wives according to the Law, they were not to have married foreign wives in the first place, so to bring back pure worship to Jehovah their God they needed to divorce their foreign wives and send them away with the children born to them. Moses granted a divorcing to satisfy the hard hearted Israelites, Jesus said no man should pull apart what God has yoked together meaning you should not divorce, but, if one of the spouses was unfaithful, then you could get a divorce on the spiritual grounds of adultery or fornication but if you could work it out and forgive your spouse you should stay together. Paul did not endorse it but said if a mate left you you should not remarry in case there was a chance of reconciliation.

Christians who disagree on divorce was based on the verse that a man and a woman who have been united by God can not be separated by human..But in our holy qur'an is stated that God permits married woman and man on divorce if they have no peace in their marriage. and meet certain qualifications. The protestants who are included in christians can divorce with certain qualificatiions too.So God in general does not prohibit divorce but God gives us its limitation. But we should treat marriage as a sacred union of man and woman up to the end of their lives.Husband and wife should love and respect each other and practice "a give and take" attitude for their differences. We should aware that there is no same attitude, habit and opinion on each family issue's solution between husband and wife.

I think this comes down to personal feelings, not what the bible says. Just because divorce is okay for one person does not mean it is okay for another. This is something that Christians should pray long and hard to God about.

because the true words of God were corrupted to suit the "society". therefore you'll see a lot of contradictions.
