It means you are going to jail. If you are on probation for a crime and your probation is revoked, (usually for violating the conditions of your probation) it's been canceled and you go to jail to serve out your sentence for your original crime.

This is what I found while searching:
Sec. 3565. Revocation of probation
(a) Continuation or Revocation. - If the defendant violates a
condition of probation at any time prior to the expiration or
termination of the term of probation, the court may, after a
hearing pursuant to Rule 32.1 of the Federal Rules of Criminal
Procedure, and after considering the factors set forth in section
3553(a) to the extent that they are applicable -
(1) continue him on probation, with or without extending the
term or modifying or enlarging the conditions; or
(2) revoke the sentence of probation and resentence the
defendant under subchapter A.
So it depends on the new hearing whether the person's probation will be extended or he may have to do jail time for the crime.

If a person on probation, violates the terms and conditions of probation, a petition may be filed with the court to revoke that probation. This is usually done by the probation officer, but may be done by the prosecuting attorney.
At that point, the probationer is usually arrested, and a court date set for a hearing before a judge.
The state must prove by a perponderance of evidence that the individual has violated their probation. If they do, then the judge has a number of options. He/She can order the person to prison to serve all, or any portion of the penalty for the original offense, order extended probation, order a period of jail time, etc.

Revocation of probation means that the probation was rescinded or was declared to be no longer valid. This can be done if the person on probation violated the rules.

When conditions of probation are broken the probation can be revoked (taken away) and the original sentence or at least what is remaining of it may be imposed. Or a lesser penalty could be imposed by the trier of fact.

the judge finds you guilty and sentences you to 12 months in jail. Then suspends the 12 months in jail and places you on probation. Your probation officers come to you two months later and makes you take a urine test. You come back hot for marijuana. Your probation officers takes you back before the judge who placed you on probation and tells him you came back hot on the whiz quiz. The judge revokes your probation and puts in jail for the original 12 month sentence.

It means you have to do the sentence, because you violation the terms of your probation. In other words, jail.

I means you'll be taken off of probation (time out of jail) and will be sent back to jail.

when someone gets probation, they're essentially getting 'another chance' if they get a revocation of their probation it means they got thaqt second chance taken away for one reason or another, maybe proven to not be trustworth, or suspicion of them acting up again?
