It all depends. Have you ever written a story or anything before? Do you write all the time? Are your grammar and spelling pretty decent?
I'm writing a book right now, but I didn't really take anything special in school. I took college English a few years ago and one Medieval Literature class, but that was it (obviously I'm not writing a Medieval book, haha).
Just let your enthusiasm guide you, and come up with your own system. I brainstorm a LOT (ideas all over the place, written down), then I research my ideas, which usually leads to more ideas, etc. etc. I ended up with over 20 pages of written ideas and research before I even wrote the first page. Make sure you really have your characters down, their motivations, beliefs, and their personal connections to the plot. You may find that you have all the tools within yourself, without ever sitting down to a class.
However, if you think your English skills are not so good, you could benefit by taking a basic writing or composition course. Maybe you could even find one online. Or, join a writers' internet forum, there are bound to be tons of groups like that on the net. Good luck!

If you're writing a book, there are plenty of excellent books out there that help with either writing a book as a whole or individual parts (introduction, description, dialogue, setting, characters, plot, etc.). The "Write Great Fiction" series is very good.
As for classes, I do not know. Try looking through the newspaper for local classes and ask around. Try some online searches for classes in your area. Asking for advice on writing forums helps too!

I pass judgement on a well e-book, similar to I could pass judgement on a well film. My quantity one rule is, if it makes me cry, it is handed my scan. I like books that make me think as regardless that the characters and their instances are truly. I wish to fail to remember that I'm even studying. A well e-book is person who continues you up into the early hours of the morning. You discover your self crying, shaking in worry or pleasure. Those are the books which might be "epidermis breaking" personally. So a few folks would possibly love Twilight, different's hate it. As lengthy because it made any one, someplace get the ones chills and goosebumps, it is viewed a well e-book in my head. Well-written does not neccessarily imply it has to have giant vocab and such a lot of main points you do not even recognize what is going down, to me it simply signifies that the creator is aware of what she or he is doing with their tale. Oh good, I'm rambling, so I'll give up. But nearly, a well e-book has to seize you by way of the hair and throw you into a global you by no means knew existed and depart you awe-struck and puzzled whilst it is over.

Online classes, I'm not sure. But most colleges (including community colleges) offer courses in many types of writing, from fiction to technical. They actually tend to be rather useful in letting you know what editors want--if you hope at all to be published, you have to suck up to the editors. XD The assignments won't fall in line with your book, I think--that is, you'd likely not be able to write it as an assignment--but the lessons you'd learn would certainly help out.
