I use to make pepper salad using Progresso Pepper Salad in the tall jars. I have looked in alot of stores and can't find it anymore. It has green and red hot peppers. The peppers measure about 2-3 inches long. They are in olive oil with some seasoning ( maybe italian seasoning?). I add cubed sharp white cheddar cheese, black olives, pepperoni and let it marinate overnight with the pepper salad. If I could copy somewhat the ingredients in the jar of pepper salad would be great. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like Italian Pepper Salad:
1 green bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 orange bell pepper
2 red bell peppers
3 green onions, chopped
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon dry basil
8 ounces Italian dressing (bottled)
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 tablespoon sugar

Cut peppers in half.
Remove seeds and wash peppers.
Place on baking sheet and broil, until skins blacken.
Remove from pan and place in brown paper bag.
Close bag and allow to sit 5 minutes.
Remove from bag and scrape off skins.
Slice into 1/4 inch strips.
Mix in bowl with all other ingredients.
Refrigerate and allow to marinate for one hour or over night.
Stir before serving.

you can use any pickled peppers personally, i love salads with pepperoncinis in them... if you have ever been to Olive Garden, its what they put in their salad. it isn't the same color as peppadew, but has a somewhat similar heat level. you can find these peppers in most supermarkets, usually with the other pickled foods.
