A solution is made of a liquid and something soluable (that can dissolve) such as the crystals salt or sugar.
A suspension is where the solid does not dissolve but stays intact 'suspended' in the liquid, as happens when you mix yeast and water, for example.
You can filter the solid out of a suspension, but you would have to evaporate off the liquid to get the solid out of a solution.

Hi. In a solution the material dissolves into the liquid. In a suspension it simple 'hangs' around. Homogenized milk is a suspension. Sugar water is a solution.
