Are DVI cables expensive?

What does a pin between 6 and 4 mean? Will this cable transfer a video onto my computer? Or just view the video on the moniter? What are some prices of these things?

This is a video cable only, you'll still need an audio cable. Use HDMI if you can because the picture quality is better and the video & audio signal is carry in the same cable.
