I've been really sick all day with very bad diarrhea and vomiting. I've taken Pepto about 3 times, 4 immodium, and I've been trying to keep down toast and gatorade. I'm really not trying to be gross (so no silly answers, please) but I've gone to the bathroom and vomited so much that everything is comming out in a clear-yellow liquid with a brownish-black sediment in it. I really don't want to have to go to the doctor for this, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any old "mom tricks" to help me out. Thanks so much!

Flat 7-Up is best. Especially if you are vomitting. Peppermint tea is very good for an upset stomach too. There is alot of flu going around, so plenty of liquids and alot of rest are best. Try the peppermint tea though, it does work.

It would be best if you stopped trying to eat or drink anything for a while, and let your stomach settle down. If you keep eating and drinking on an upset stomach, you will vomit again, which will irritate your stomach further, and make you vomit more. Sometimes peppermint can really help with nausea. If you have some peppermints, or tic tacs, just suck on them slowly, and see if it helps. Only when the vomiting has stopped should you try to drink small sips of clear liquid, and if that goes okay, start small bites of dry toast or plain crackers after a few hours. If you haven't stopped vomiting in 24 hours, or if you are in pain, you need to see a doctor, and may need to go to the ER for fluids. Good Luck!!

7-UP. I know it sounds weird but it has to be plain and not generic. I'm guessing because it has the most all natural ingredients and it helps settle the stomach. Stop drinking Gatorade. it may be what's making you sick. it's sugar and coloring so skip that and take some 7-UP.
