Is this a trick question?
Of course they are responsible for their actions. They may not be aware of them but they are responsible for them and should be held accountable for them. This is one of many reasons why drinking enough to get drunk is NEVER a good idea. A few drinks, fine, but like most things, drinking is best in moderation.

To an extent, they should be accountable. Sometimes, yes, drunkenness brings out what was there already, but alcohol has different effects on all people; however, they should be held accountable, because it was their idea to get drunk, and they should be ready to accept the consequences.

I believe that yes, they are accountable for their actions while they are drunk. They chose to get drunk in the first place, so why wouldn't they be accountable?

in law, yes
if you shoot someone while drunk and dont remember, and say, well i was drunk! you will get the exact same sentance, they will say 'then you shouldnt have been drunk'
in reality, definatly not, since people (like me) can drink untill they black out, and not remember the whole night
how can i be accountable for something i dont remember doing? (and probably never would have done sober)

Personally, I think this one is debateable. If you are a rape victim, because you are drunk, (and that, in itself, is a defense that excuses the victim from responsibility), then can you be excused from the perpetration of a crime due to alcohol ingestion? I don't know. But it is certainly a matter worthy of discussion.

Your always accountable for your own actions. Doesn't matter if your drunk, sober , or on drugs. They are your actions and nobody else's.

You may not be able to control what you're doing while you're drunk, but you are able to control how much alcohol you consume before you are drunk, therefore you are responsible
