The five pointed star in christianity symbolizes the Five wounds of christ?

The Crown of thorns,
The Scourge on his Back,
The Nail in his Hands,
The Nail in his Feet,
And the Spear in his Side.

And that is why The Five pointed star was on the Bible along time ago.

So is this true or not?

Many people make up fables to explain things.
It is Pagan and could symbolize the wounds I suppose.
The bible has NOT had a five pointed star on it. I have never seen one like that. Perhaps this is a regional thing.

I have read that too. That symbol is as ancient as the cross (which was a Pagan symbol before it became a Christian one). It seems the star has made it's way into a lot of different cultures and belief systems. I have also read where the five pointed star represents the first five books of the Bible... the Torah.

It's a verified fact of history. The five-pointed star has had an assortment of religious and cultural meanings. It's somewhat ironic, given that so many modern Christians revile and fear the pentagram, that Christians in the Middle Ages believed the symbol to be a protection *against* witchcraft.

Another symbol that has a variety of meanings is the swastica, a.k.a. hooked cross (Hakenkreuz), a.k.a. fylfot, a.k.a. tetraskelion, some of which are regarded as positive and others negative.

The penticle is a pagan symbol representing the 5 elements. Earth Air Fire Water Spirit. It was stolen and renamed when christianity was invented.

I was under the impression the 5 pointed star was a pagan symbol long before Christ, but have nothing to support that.

When it comes down to it symbols represent whatever meaning you want to give it. If you can look at a star and think of those things then it has become a symbol of that for you.

Correct. It was often painted on the shields of knights until about 1000 CE.

The pentacle has many meanings and yes that is one of them. If you reverse it it becomes a pentagram and is considered really evil.

That is false, the star was out before Jesus came to earth as a human, and/or was beaten. This was the sign of King David.
