...don't want to see this rubbish. Can anyone think of a sensible way to get out of seeing it and getting my rights reinstated at the same time?
Thanks!

I would suggest that you go to a late night showing of the film and then you can fall asleep in the cinema. However if she drives there, make sure that you have enough money for a taxi home in case she doesn't wake you up. By doing this your rights should be re-instated, because you did take her to see the film. She didn't say that you have to be awake during it

Tell her you're not interested in the movie, OR HER, and you don't appreciate her using sex as a tool to get you to do what she wants you to do. Or you could go to the movie with her, it would'nt kill you, you know, but if she tries to "reward" you later, turn her down. Be cool about it, though. You could tell her that you're not in the mood or that you "just want to be held." That'll piss her off and show her you're not to be treated like an animal or a child. You'll will only set yourself up to become her lifelong puppet if you go along with her offer.

Added comments: I am astonished at the number of female answerers on this question who seem to approve of your girlfriend's attitude of using sex as a tool to control a man or your expectation of having your feelings considered of equal worth to hers. Don't degrade yourself like a dog that's begging, but do be a gentleman and do the noble thing, whatever you think that is.

I would suggest getting a new girlfriend. If she's withholding sex for something as STUPID as a movie then you can only imagine the other stuff she's gonna withhold sex for. I would get a new girlfriend or get use to not getting any

I think you should both grow up. If my wife said she wanted to take me to see a film I would go whether I liked it or now because I want to be with her. It is one of the films she wants to see and is supposedly a good romantic comedy. Relationships are all about give and take but it is sad she is using sex as a weapon against her. What on earth is wrong going to see the film. If she enjoys it as a romatic comedy it may make her more horny and ready for you afterwards so go along and see what happens..

Here's the deal, maybe she likes to watch the movie but of course she likes you more. Man I think you should enjoy this time with her, she's just trying to have some good time with you, and you can give her this. On the other hand, you'd ask her to do something with you that doesn't really like to do, but she'd do it for you.
One more thing, if you're fixing to do something...do it right.
Anyway you'll go to watch the movie (Sad or Happy)...so choose to be happy.

Tell her that you really dont want to go to the movie and if she wants to withold sex from you then that's her problem. Maybe you dont have to use such harsh words, but it all comes down to the chase. I think the tables will turn in your favor if you start playing hard to get.

See it while half drunk. The film will seem better and you don't have to make excuses. Don't get totally drunk or things might go wrong (like being sick into your popcorn!) and your girlfriend will be angry - just a few drinks to make the film seem better.
Who knows, your girlfriend might get horney watching the film... can't hurt can it?

Stand your ground and find someone else on the side (with a better taste in films) for 'your rights'.

Get a new girlfriend, who does she think she is?
Tell her to grow up, she's obviously too immature is she thinks that a healthy sexual relationship works on a "reward" basis.
