You can't. I think if this is a new believer it is NORMAL, even HEALTHY to question if you are truly in the faith. When I was a new believer, and got over my terror of thinking it was wrong to ask other Christians if this was wrong for me to doubt or not, I was very relieved to find most of them at one time or another felt the same way. However, it's a reassurance that can only come from God through much prayer and Bible study. That's what I suggest you tell your friend to do. We have an enemy who delights in paralyzing us and making us useless for the Lord once we get saved, since he can't rob us of our Salvation.

pray for him,for satan is feeding him lies. there are many scriptures that can help you, especially in the book of romans. Do some studying, God will give you the right scriptures. But, if the friend cannot answer yes to the following question, you have a problem..."Where will you go today, if you died?" Obviously, he should say heaven, if he can't then he may have not been serious when he asked Jesus for the salvation or did not understand it. Of course, satan likes to play with a doubting mind.

If the person is worried about their salvation, this is the first step....fear. You must fear God in order to receive salvation, fear is evidence of faith, which is also needed to obtain salvation. Because you won't fear something that you don't believe. So here you have it, based upon the fear of not being saved...reverence of God, and faith, now put that fear and faith into action and spill out those fears to God, ask Him to intercede in your life, over time your fears will fade and the evidence of your salvation will become more obvious

By the Word of God.

By the way, do you notice the excessive cackling of demons on this site?

Peace to you in Jesus !

If you are a Christian I'd think you had a pretty strong relationship with God and you'd be turning to God with this question.

You can't give, teach or lead people to something you have not found, do not have and do not trust enough have faith in, to turn to the very God you'd be trying to reassure them of ....

Now can you?

Assure them that fear and doubt are not emanating from God who is divine Love, and so have no power to turn them from faith and hope. God never takes the salvation plan away from us.

It depends on whether this believer considers sin a very heavy subject.

You can't, that is something between him or her and Christ. Only the person you are speaking of can search his or her heart and pray to know whether or not they are a believer.
