In a group here, there is a guy, late 40s who is contacting underage girls thru the group. One, I know of 16 yrs. old, in his same city, responded to him and now she believes she may be pg. He of course is trying to break it off and she is protecting him but I know his Yahoo ID. What should I do? He is just going to go after some other young girl.

Thanks to most of you anyway. I have gotten some things on the guy in writting which helps. I'm in a different state so I'm dealing from there. I don't even know the city. It is a tough situation to be in but trust me that I am doing everything I can to get this perv/preditor off the streets and net. I wouldn't want my granddaughter running into him some day. Brightest Blessings ImMappam

Maybe you should encourage the 16 year old to talk to her parents, or go to the police in the city where she lives Your knowledge is only hearsay, so you have no evidence that a crime was committed. I'm not sure you can do much more at this point.
It would be nice if Yahoo had some sort of link to contact them about serious issues like this - but I have never seen one. I doubt there is any way that Yahoo would give you the identity of the bad man, but I'm sure they would give it to police if they asked for it.

Personally, I would turn him in to Yahoo. BUT! According to laws, it would depend on which state she lived in before anything could be done against him. In some states, the "legal age" IS 16. But even with that, I would still turn him in. It's hard tellin how many other girls and how old, he has done this sort of thing to.

If I were in your shoes, I'd consider it a moral obligation to report the man to the authorities and agree to testify if called upon. Don't do what the Catholic church did and cover for him or convince yourself that he will stop simply because he knows that you know or because you forced him to move to a new town.

I wouldn't hide it. Technically, that could be illegal if you had the knowledge of criminal activity without saying anything. It's technically obstruction of justice. Besides, I think you owe it to the girl.

Report him to your local authorities with the ID information and whatever other evidence you have. They'll take it from there.

TELL THE AUTHORITIES!!!!! DOn't let him go and do something bad to someone else. Imagine someone, god forbid, having something bad done to them. All because you didn't stop him! Tell the police his Yahoo ID, and let them handle it. better to be safe than sorry

I don't know what is to be done, I just think you're in the wrong section, and that the man is an imbecile, and the girl isn't much better.
