The Bible never remotely indicates that one must go through a church to obtain salvation.

Salvation is found only in the name of Jesus. Acts 4:12, Acts 2:38, Zec 14:9 No other name, Church or any Group can offer salvation.

The real definition of a church is its people. To me, it is most definitely about people. It's only called a church because it needs a name. To God, buildings matter nothing, because they don't have souls and they aren't even living.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that there is only salvation THROUGH BAPTISM. However, one can reach salvation easiest through the Catholic Church and her Sacraments.

BRICK AND MORTAR HAVE NO SOULS.
CHRISTIANS are part of the body of Christ which is His Church.
Just where is the authority in the Bible for CATHOLICS???????
There are NO Catholics in the Bible. It was started by man because they did not " like " all the commands of God and wanted to ADD to God's Plan of salvation. The Greek churches didn't go along with the Roman and thus they split. One example is when they introduce organs into the worship services even though God did not authorize it. The Greeks said no, the Roman and Latin eventually split from them and still use mechanical instruments even though it is not in God's word to do so.

Let me tell you what it is NOT.
Its not the catholics, they don't have a clue, they can't even spell Bible and their method of salvation is not salvation at all, those who are sucked into to it will be very disappointed when they go right past purgatory (non existent) and straight to hell. And don't be so sure that it won't happen. If you don't have true salvation as found in the Bible, you aren't saved!
Its not the mormons, they too teach a different salvation which is NOT salvation at all. Mormons, you will never be king of your own planet or world, get over it and submit to the true King and His Word. The book of mormon is a false teaching that leads those who are sucked in to it, straight to hell.
The Jw's, you know who you are and you are very mistaken. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, read 1&2 John in the real Bible, not that new world translation that Russell gave you,he wrote to fit the god he wanted to bow to, not the God of the Bible. There is a hell and you will find that out if you don't humble yourselves before the ONE TRUE GOD!
Muslims, I don't have time to type it all up. You will NOT get to paradise by killing people.
The true Church is the body of Christ. It is made up of those who humble themselves before God and accept His ONE AND ONLY plan of salvation that is in CHRIST ALONE! You cannot work your way into Heaven. Christ ALONE paid the price. We are completely and hopelessly lost without Jesus Christ ALONE.
We are not saved by our good deeds or our religion or our chuch attendance. Faith ALONE in Christ ALONE saves us.
Read Ephesians 2:8-9
The Church is made up of people who are saved by what Jesus did, that is the true Church.

The people all together in a building. If a certain place was not important Jesus would not have told the disciples to go to the place with the upper room to prepare the Passover, he would have just said meet you back at the camp (or where ever they were staying)

As a catholic, church means the people. Whomever is catholic, and follows the faith with their whole heart becomes part of the church. The people is more important to God--always.

The true Church of God is an embodiment of believers. Traditionally, a "church" is a place for belivers in Christ to gather and hear the word of God. Jesus said that wherever we gather in His name, there He will be among them....That is what is important to the Father.

God doesn't care about brick and mortar. But the Church, the Bride of Christ, consists of His People.
And the Catholic Church is PART of the Bride of Christ, mentioned in Revelations as the Church of Thyatira.

Both. The body of Christ is each individual Christian. But it is good to get together with other believers to worship God in Church. I love it.
