All comments are great, also this.
When my sister was little, my parents didn't have a lot of money. She was constantly wanting things she couldn't have, because my parents didn't have that great of a job. It wasn't that bad, but they just couldn't get her the things she wanted that weren't nessesities. Then when I came along, we were already in a new house, and my parents had a lot better jobs. I grew up being able to have what I wanted, but I needed to ask for it. So I grew up not wanting everything, the most I ever whined about was getting a dog, which I did get eventually. I grew up very well. Straight A's, never a B on a report card. Got Presidential accademic award and citizenship award.
Also, people say don't pick up your child when they cry, because they will become attention starved, but I don't believe that is true. I turned out just fine, and my mom always comforted me!

I've noticed that parents tend to raise their children the way they themselves were raised. For example, if the parent was raised with strictness, that's how he/she will raise the child. Also, I've noticed that personality can be somewhat inherited-in a nutshell, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

It's really impossible to tell if the behaviors are learned or genetic if they are living with their biological families.
