tell her she doesnt talk enough! over and over again... say..you should talk more!! or- why don't u talk?? then when that doesnt work....dump her. she'll learn then that she needs to open up. it sounds really mean when i put it that way..but its the truth!! then maybe in the future once she comes out of her shell..she'll talk more and be a lot of fun like u originally thought she would be!!

The key to getting a timid female to answer questions more openly is to create a comforting environment. First, you have to create the setting where she is dominant. One way is to say a few self-depricating jokes. You need to make her smile or laugh. Then, once you have established that you are not a threat and that she is an equal to you, ask open ended questions (ie. why, how). The key here is to be willing to knock yourself down a bit. This shows a timid girl that you are not a) full of yourself, b) controlling, and that you are c) confident enough to acknowledge your weaknesses. For example, would you rather answer a question when being interviewed by an employer or by your friend. You need to sweep away the hierarchy when addressing someone who is timid.

You ask her questions that require long answers. Some possibilities are:
Where do you want to be 10 years from now?
How do you feel about school/teacher/friends?
What is your favorite subject in school? Why?
I know they sound stupid, but once you get her to open up a little, then she will continue the conversation on her own.

I have the same problem actually...try to use more questions that have her think or state her opinion (as in, preferably no yes or no questions). You could even tell her that you want her to talk more, maybe because you like her voice, who knows, maybe she'll listen.

hmm.. thats odd cause girls are usually very talkative and the more social of the genders. Doesn't sound like she wants to talk.
But it might work to ask her about what she interested in... good luck

If you can manage to find out what she likes, try talking to her about that. She might open up.

ask her to tell you about herself ..because you would like to get to know her better, and go from there.. good luck.
