no you shouldnt tell him, and it could be an advantage to know ahead of time. this way you can make sure everything goes really good. like you can order food that wont get all over your face, and you can make sure you dont get in a fight that night or soemthing. congrats!

That really sucks that his best friend blew the surprise! Some friend! Anyway, as to whether or not to tell your boyfriend that you found out...that's a hard one. I would never advocate lying, but in this case, I think I might not let on that I know, and then act surprised when he sprung it on me. I'd do this more for his sake than mine. In your case though, maybe it WOULDN'T be a good idea to pretend to be surprised, because old loose lips might spill the beans to your boyfriend that you knew about it, and then everyone will be disappointed. I guess maybe I'd hint to the boyfriend that his "friend" had told me that he had a "big surprise" for me at the dinner. Maybe your boyfriend will postpone the proposal to a time when you WILL be surprised. Then tell the blabbermouth to shut the h e l l up.

The question you have to ask is 'do you want to get married yet', I wouldnt tell him that yu know though because he might get mad at his friend for telling you. Which could possible get them into a fight. If you really do want to marry him then go for it. As far as the scared part, i believe everyone gets those. I had those at first but we've been married for four years now and thats the best thing i could have done.

Maybe his friend is just telling you that because he thinks it is funny. You can never be too sure, though, so I would tell your boyfriend that his best friend broke the news to you. He might just play dumb and say that he had no intention of doing anything but take you to dinner. It is better to keep something like that a surprise.

This is a very impotant and scary thing for him to do! Do not please do not ruin this for him. It could ruin it for the both of you or maybe end a friendship between ur man and his bestfriend! Becareful too, bcuz maybe this friend of his could be jelious and told you a lie to start things up or wanted it to be ruined on purpose! I would not tell him that you knew if I were you. Good luck and hope everything works out!

welcome to the next step in life. if you tell him, it will ruin it. if you don't and he finds out, then it will ruin it. blame it all on his best friend either way.

pretend that you don't know, so you don't spoil his surprise.
