Try parting your hair as usual (to one side...not down the middle), then brushing the back of it straight ouit. The easiest ponytail to make is like this and do a low ponytail at the base of your neck. it will look great in seconds and can go from dressed down for school to dressed up for a night out...:-P Good luck...

Hi, you just caught the perfect person to answer your question! lol I guess the reason why I say that is because I am pretty good with doing ponytails with NO bumps. What I do with my hair is, right after I have showered, while my hair is still wet kinda; I split half my hair and with one side I brush and comb out my hair (to remove tangles) and do the same on the other side. Then, I grab all my hair and lean down halfway; with my brush I'm brushing all my hair to make a high ponytail. I continue to do it even after I've used 2 hair wraps. Because even after putting the first wrap in your hair, there are like tons of bumps. So, I just continue geling and brushing my hair back. I grab 2 more hair wraps and again, bend down and wrap my hair. The reason why I'm bending down to throw my hair into a ponytail is because when I bend down it causes my ponytail to rise up like a high ponytail. I just keep brushing and geling my hair down on my head so that there are no bumps. My ponytails are usually very tight and high but they look really good! I hardly have bumps cuz I just keep on brushing and adding more hair wraps. In the end, I have about 4 hair wraps in my ponytail. They are like, small black thick rubberbands (not scrunchies).
Most people call me a perfectionist because I am so picky with my hair but I think hair is an important factor to beauty. You can even pull out a strand of a bang out and it will look cute on the side of your face. In the end, spray it with hair spray and you are done. I hope I told you the steps in the best way you can understand it. Its actually better to show you in person but you know lol. Good luck.

Take the hair in your hand and start brushing. Put one of those stretchy thingys and loop around a couple of times to make stay at base of ponytail. Wash your hands and don't forget to turn off the water! Oh yeah, you can spray some of that glittery stuff all you girls buy at the store! Now you have a fabulous ponytail!

Be sure to use a brush with natural or boar-hair bristles...not a vented brush. The more tightly packed the bristles are the better, as it will pull your hair together at the same consistency, thereby eliminating the bumps created by wider bristles.

then, i take my heair brush and brush it all up into where i want my ponly tail
then i tie it...
i dont have bumps on the top, i have them on the bottom, but the pony tail covers them.. yeah i dunno my way is kinda werid, but i hope that i helped.

bend your body forward and throw all your hair over your head. grab fistfuls of hair and finger-comb them towards a center point. quickly tie it up tightly with a good ponytail holder.
