i need to find anything new about cars ect. I will give u 10 points if u findsomething about soler powered cars@!!!

Yes it seems as though solar panels just don't grab enough energy to run the whole car. A lot of universities (I go to Purdue, we have this) have clubs that build solar cars that do run entirely on solar energy. However, these cars are the size of go-carts, and are so small and light that being entirely encased in solar panels does run them fully. It isn't very practical for a normal sized car, yet. I'm sure sometime in the future they will further develop the technology and make it more efficient.

It's been tried. Noel Perrin wrote a book about his Datsun electic car station wagon covered with solar panels. Wasn't enough, the solar panels only supplied about 10% of the juice he needed. See link.

Solar cars would be too expensive and would have to have too large of surface area to fit on the average car.
