To: Free your fancy: In case you didn't know, christians believe that jesus is all powerful and that he sees and hears everything. They believe he has the power to answer prayers, turn water into wine, stop cancer tumors from growing etc. But he can't stop innocent babies from being raped and killed????? What don't you understand? Have you ever studied the christian faith? He has the power to stop babies from being raped but instead he sits back and allows it to happen.....get it?

LOL. How funny. No, I don't think they'll be dealing with internal conflict. Their brainwashed mind will suddenly turn all their previous (pre-answer) feelings off and continue happily with their sick delusion.

See, this is why it's best to not take the bible literally, or as historical truth. I'm an agnostic, and yet I consider myself a far more respectful person than many of these assholes that claim to be 'Christian'. What's important about any religion are the morals and positive teachings that can be taken from them, rather than the belief in a divine being, the following/worship of a prophet/god, the celebration of a religious festival/tradition, etc.
Unfortunately, most of these poor souls (supposed Christians) don't realize this, and will bash the **** out of you if you deny that Jesus walked on water, or say that God didn't create the universe. People like them act as though you can be a complete asshole, but so long as you follow God and worship him, you'll go to Heaven. Well I have news for those assholes: they're going to go to Hell if it actually exists, and if it doesn't, they're either going to rot six feet under, or be turned into ash.
If you study the emergence and development of Christianity, and how it rose to power, you'll see that it originally became popular because it showed the lower classes more respect, and gained followers through cruel (the Spanish inquisition, the Crusades, etc.), disrespectful, and close-minded means.
The fact is that some people just don't understand life. They get so caught up in their religion that they don't think about the bigger picture. They don't think about the fact that there might be more to this world than some divine being who knows all and created all, and that maybe, just maybe, their beliefs just might be ******* primitive as hell.
This is exactly why I don't follow any one religion. I enjoy being able to live a good life, without wasting time on worship, and simply treating others with the same respect I expect in return. I know what you mean though, a lot of these Christians don't know the history of their own religion; talk about close-minded.

I totally agree with you. See, when people hear the Santa Clause story and how he lives in the North Pole they don't believe it because it's impossible for him to deliver presents to every kid in one night, but when you hear the Jesus Christ story people will CREATE excuses for every question, like if I asked "Why didn't he answer my prayer?" they'd say "Maybe he didn't want to, or you have to wait." ALL KINDS OF EXCUSES which do nothing but make the story seem even MORE unbelievable. I don't blame them though, it's a very serious condition that even a smack across the face won't make it go away.
Have a nice day
Edit: to purpleaura1, it says "For ATHEISTS only" and as for as I'm concerned you're not, so go away, we've heard it all before, it's useless repeating the same crap over and over, get a life.

The data is interesting, and may point to a bias favouring the actions of their "Jesus", but i wouldn't and couldn't truly come to such a conclusion without seeing follow up responses, after the subjects learned that the person in question was a deity.
Do i think anyone's bothered over it? doubtful, most likely the "crime" was excused and put out of mind once the criminal was identified.
Nobody is bothered by the fact that Jesus was justly executed for criminal acts in the bible, so why would this be much different?

First I need you to help me understand what you wrote in that previous post. When did Jesus "sit back" and "allow" that to happen? I'm asking ONLY because I have never heard that before. Was he somehow in a position where he could have stopped it? Did you somehow glean that from a part of the bible... and if so... if you don't believe in the bible, isn't it kind of weird to use it as a resource for making a point? (Again -- I'm thinkin' out loud here... I'm not a Christian... I simply don't understand your previous post so before I can answer this one, I need to understand that one)
Let me try to clarify my question -- WHEN did Jesus "sit back" and "allow" that to happen? When was the event to which you are referring? Or are you using a more modern scenario and wondering why Jesus couldn't stop it? Just trying to understand if this is a biblical allusion or a modern one.

God does not create evil; he allows it to occur. When he originally created the world, he created all things good. All things alined together. Beast and human walked together. But sin entered thru eve. She made a choice. Which changed Gods plan for the world /man forever, evil entered in,sin, sickness. Theres was no longer paradise on earth. He created people with the freedom to choose. This includes the freedom to make right and wrong choices. Often those wrong choices bring about consequences that end up hurting ourselves or other people, sometimes innocent victims who didn't deserve it.

He lets humans do what they want. It's called free will.
You can do all the evil you want and you will pay for it later.
Humans choose to rape each other.
You are a hateful moron.
