Do you think we are missing a larger than life, charismatic military leader in Iraq to inspire the trrops like leaders of the past i.e McAuthur, Patton, Bradley, Stormin Norman, etc. Have you seen the current 4 stars- they have the personality of a door knob

It's not the generals, it's the war they're fighting.

Let me tell you I've been to Iraq twice and the Morale is bad!!! First time is was good but the was on the march to Baghdad. It's been 6 months since I've been there so I"m not sure how it is now. I don't think a 4 Star would help. This is a Different kinda of War we are in now. It could end up like Vietnam. Losing and Way too much Troop lost!!!

If you want to improve troop morale - all you have to do is Let the troops know that you will support what they are doing.

Besides, how can the troops in Iraq have good morale when the party that now controls Congress needs to ensure that our soldiers fail? (Think about it - a victory in Iraq would be a political disaster for the Democratic party.)

Apparently General Abizaid is pretty highly respected. He just doesn't necessarily have that same charisma.
