good choice,,,they are happy to be indoors.they are super smart.
they do seem to bark when hearing a noise, kinda overprotective of thier owners,i have 2 both female, never had no problem house breaking neither of them..i will warn you they will become your friend
and expect to be with you everywhere you go to in the house...
if you want to view one i send a video of mine to dogshowusa.com
just go into the dog gallery and in the search type in jace.....
i think you would be happy with a papillon...any questions feel free to ask...

Sure Papillons make good companion pets. They are active, happy, and intelligent. They are not harder than any other dog to house train. I actually almost considered one I didn't because they can be fragile with bigger dogs, playing too rough, or jumping on and off things. They are get companions it just depends on your life style. If you are an active family and include it in family activities it may be a good pet.

My girlfriend showed and raised these wonderful bundles of joy and I spent a lot of time with her and her dogs. They are great little dogs and are normally good with children. Not little nippers like many small dogs. They are energetic and affectionate. Some do have housebreaking problems, but are generally easier to housebreak than most small dogs. They have been known to do agililty and obedience with success, as they are hardy and if well bred, physically sound.

These are terrific little dogs.

That would depend on your lifestyle and what you expect in a dog. This website has some information and a lot of books:
