An omniscient god and free will cannot co-exist. Free will is the ability to think and choose and act according to one's own prerogative without being forcably compelled to do so by any external force.

In total opposition to this concept is the omniscience of god. God knows everything, every second of your life, every thought, every action, every bat of your eyelash. God's knowledge is perfect. God is infallible. THIS KNOWLEDGE forcably prevents you from doing ANYTHING which would contradict the flawless and absolute knowledge of god.

You will NEVER do anything that god has not forseen... therefore you are bound by this knowledge. You cannot escape it.

As human being you have a will which is part of your soul.
It is different part other than your body and your spirit.

Now, because you have a free will, you are free to choose to do and to become anything you want according to your own will.

Your body have five senses. And your soul have senses too. These sensory data are routed to you while you are making your free will.

The trouble is that free will alone is not enough. It has to be guided by your spirit and the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God is sensing everything, even the things hidden from the body and soul.

Well, I can only explain it Biblical because I don't know any other way so if that's not what you are looking for I apologise. God could have made us all robots. He could have not given us any choice and only put good wholesome things on the earth. But God didn't want us to be robots. He wants us to CHOOSE to do right. The wrong choices will always be available because if we don't have the option of choosing wrong then we also would not have the option of choosing right.

As an example: God could set every bar and pub on this earth on fire right this minute but then we would be not going to bars and pubs by force not by choice. So, God lets them stand and allows us to choose between good and evil.

I recommend reading the book ELEMENTS OF GODLY CHARACTER: Here is a link where you can purchase it.

I think free will is a gift from God that all humans have with which we can do whatever we want to, good or bad. Of course God wants us to do good and not bad things but because of mankind's many bad choices the world is so messed up. There are famines, wars, and murders because we have free will to do so.
People wonder why God allows so many bad things to happen but it is because of our free will that he allows such things. If he stepped in and violated our free will we would be like robots and he would have to stop every sin from happening before it happens. It would be like Dr. Evil when he won't let his son Scott talk. (Zip It!) Not even God will intervene, unless he is asked to, because of our free will. As far as natural disasters, I think we play a part in that too by things like nuclear warfare and how we treat the environment. That's my 2 cents.

Free will is the choosing between alternatives by the subject alone, which is not necessitated by prior or outside forces.

For example, in a free-will decision, a bad choice cannot be blamed on genetics or environment.

The person choose that simply because he *wanted* to - and that cannot be understood in terms more elementary or scientific than that.

Free will is the ability of man to do as he pleases...to believe what he chooses, and to go where he desires to go. Consequences are what a man faces when any of above stated decisions are made in haste...or ill will. Nothing in life is free except God's love. Will power is a gift from God. We all have it...only a select few utilize it.

Read the book "God's Debris". I can't remember the author's name, but it was written by the guy who does the Dilbert comics - look around and you will be able to read it online for free

for my part, free will is the conscious choice to experience or not experience an infinity of possible paths that lead you to the source

To help you see....think of an animal, (maybe a squirrel) who is guided by instinct. He is guide by instinct to collect food, to hide it , to raise his babies....and so on.....You could say all these things are programmed into him....he does them automatically.

When God created man, he wanted to have his Love returned to him through appreciation and obedience. For example.....we like it when our son takes the garbage out or washes the dishes every night because he wants to please his parents. If our son was programmed to wash the dishes every night like a robot, the job would be done, but I would not be near as happy and proud as I am of a son who CHOOSES to obey and benefit the household.

People are the only physical creatures created as "free moral agents". Free to choose for themselves which path they may take. When we choose to obey the creator, we bring him joy and honor and we benefit in many ways. In fact this respect and obedience is always the best choice!

One day we will be judged by our choices. Those who were informed but choose poorly will be permanantly wiped from existance.

There is a lot of information in regards to this ok.. whoo where do I start:

In the beginning when God created humanity he gave to them the gift of free will. At this time he could have made us like robots, which only do what God wants at every second of every moment, but he decided that the only way that one can truly decide to love him, and come to him is by their choice.

Angels even have free will; before we were created there was a war in heaven. Satan (Lucifer) one of the most beautiful angels of all.. hated being second best to God and wanted the power so he influenced other angels to join him.. by influencing them to not serve God anymore.

Due to Satan’s actions he was banned from heaven and cast down to hell.

God created humankind afterwards:

Jealous of God's creation he chose to destroy it, and to turn it against God their creator to get back at God.

God created us to have free will to choose ones master, and to truly love him.

One may ague how is it that we have free will if God already knows who is going to heaven and hell. Since our names are already written in the 'book of life' for all those whom are heaven bound.

One must realize that all things work out in accordance to Gods plan one way or another. As we go about our lives we have the choice to change our outcome.

This is due to God's forgiveness of sins. If we are on a path of destruction, turning on ones creator, then we are choosing a different path.. from God.

God allows for u-turns and things can be changed.. depending on what one decides even today.. by asking the Lord into ones heart and accepting him as their Lord and Savior (accepting him as the creator)-its just that easy to have eternal life..

But Satan will do what ever he can to influence someone that, “that it’s foolish,” “its unbelievable,” “its a story,” “its not that easy,” “I’m not good enough,” “God would never forgive me,” “science proves everything” “If I can’t see it, it’s not real.”

Satan is the best tempter of all, he has been doing it for ages before, our world began.

If you are talking from a spiritual stand point Free Will means that it is your choice to ask God into your heart or not. Or in the crudest of terms to choose to go to Heaven or Hell. Heaven of course being the choice choice. And all you have to do is ask Jesus/God into your heart and really make a committment to follow him and you get to go to Heaven. Awesome!

It is the gift from God that we are free to chose what we want, to make our own decisions and base them on what our conscience tells us. Also, it's another reason not to blame God for some of the curroption we cause in the world..because we CHOSE to do it from our own free will.
