For a few weeks now I've been getting wrist pains. They 're not normally too strong and feel like short stabbing pains or a bad case of pins and needles. I normally get them if typing, writing or even fretting my bass guitar or lifting or picking up something. Problem is they have gotten worse recently and they're worrying me slightly.
Any ideas for what it might be and what I could do to stop or help it?

My right wrist seems worse than my left.
Also I need my bass guitar! I know it sounds really weak, but I need to practice 'cause I'm rubbish and love my guitar.

Sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome. See a doctor. It's an occupational disorder.

It sounds like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and you should see your Doctor, it could be Repitative Strain Injury or a trapped nerve but He/she will be able to test for Carpel TS!
Do you also have any loss of sensation in any of your fingers?
For some relief wear a wrist support (available at Chemists) and even an ordinary bandage will help. You need to keep your wrist as straight as you can. If possible keep it raised too and dont rest with it hanging down over a chair or the edge of the bed! Take paracetamol or Ibuprofen if the pain is bad.
If it is Carpel Tunnel you may need surgery! It is done with a local anaesthetic and it is only a small cut usually where the line in the middle of your palm reaches the wrist!

There are 7 bones in the wrist.. any one of them can be out of position and bring about an irritation and swelling of the capsule surrounding the bone.. The pain can come about when moving a certain way. The swelling can become sufficient to compress the nerve in that area and bring about the pins and needles effect.. only indicates a compression to the nerve and does not allow it to fully function.
The small bone can be reduced to its proper position very easilly by any well trained doctor of Chiropractic. This is what is taking place in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Is usually remedied in just a couple minutes.

There could be fluid in your wrist, or maybe you are typing wrong and its starting to create problems or it could be your bass. Keep away from the bass, and try not to type too much. Put some ice on it and take some ibuprofen. If it still gets worse, definitely get it checked out by a doctor. Also elevate it with a pillow to increase blood flow, it should help.

Sounds like the onset of Carpel Tunnel. You can buy wrist supports at any drug store. They will help, wear while typing and playing guitar (if you can) . If it continues you should see an orthopedic doctor, there is a simple minor surgery to fix this problem.

I think you should try and find a chiropractor in your area who does muscle testing, applied kinesiology and uses a drop table. I have the same thing when I type, (i have to type all day, i work in a chiropractic office) and I sneak into the back and have the dr. adjust my wrists and that usually takes care of it. In my case the c/t bone (carpal tunnel bone) just gets twisted with ligaments and tendons and nerves and it causes that feeling. I think you should look into chiropractic care. it's worth a try. a little cheaper than surgery too.

the subject is probably that she is putting too a lot weight on her wrists because of the fact the motorbike would not in effective condition her. i'm guessing that the motorbike is purely too long for her larger physique. in spite of everything, the 1st step is to take your daughter and her motorbike to a save the place somebody who's conscious of what they are doing can seem at how the motorbike fits her. i've got suggested many circumstances in this board that a appropriate geared up motorbike is a excitement and a excitement to journey on a similar time as a poorly geared up motorbike could be torture. you have proved that wonderful. If your bass is low slung, check for a lump when your hand is at 90 degrees to your wrist. This is a Ganglion, usually a painless lump (had it and took years to go away) raise your strap, Mark king stylie, and relax a bit. You can get surgery to correct this, but I found a small adjustment in playing style eased it no end.

It's probably 'Carpal Tunnel Syndrome'.
This is when tendons that surround the nerves going through your wrists (tunnel) swell and put pressure on these nerves.
Omega 3-6-9 oils and the vitamin B-6 are great for this problem.
!!!Caution!!!
Whatever you do, do not get surgery for this problem.....
Talk to some people that have had surgery for this and you will find they cannot use their wrists.
