Some have read it and some have even studied it, but I would guess that the vast majority of Christians have never even seen a copy of the Qur'an.
For that matter, I'd guess that the same could probably be said about the majority of atheists, Humanists, and all other non-Muslims.

Not so much. I never had the desire to become familiar with it as I am completely satisfied with Jesus being my personal Saviour. I know He is Deity, died and rose again the third day having the keys to death hell and the grave, and that He is standing at the right hand of God interceding for us as the only mediator between God and man, our High Priest. The Quaran denies the basic tenets of man's salvation therefore I have not been interested. I've also researched church history a bit. If I were called to be a missionary to or had lots of Quaran reading friends around I might do so. I think if a person investigates outside their religion without having a sure foundation of their own, they will be blown about by every wind of doctrine and be decieved and possibly become atheists because they get so mixed up. Also, I find all the answers I need for life in the Holy Bible.

The Quran Sura 5:51.
"Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. God does not guide the wrongdoers."
Quran Sura 5:33: "Those who make war with Allah and his messenger will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. That is how they will be treated in this world, and in the next they will have an awful doom."
(Anyone who resists Islam is deemed to be making war with Allah)
Quran Sura 47:4: Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.
No, I don't believe they are....

I personally am not, and I consider it to be a determent to understand Muslims. I'm willing to bet that most Christians in the USA have heard of the Quran but honestly don't know much about it.

Unfortunately,most of Christians are not!
The bad thing is to judge on something that you don't have enough knowledge about it!
Even those who read it literally, they make wrong judgments because of misunderstanding it!Quran can't be understood literally. To understand Quran, you should read the description of its verses, even if you are a muslim!
here is a site of holy Quran with description:

Do we need to know about another relegion?
Sometimes...just sometimes, I wonder why people beleive what their beleiving. Why arent they beleiving what I beleive, or why they stick to what they beleive.
a big factor is because they havent heard of another relegion, havent any knowledge about other relegion.
Why should we be afraid to learn about another relegion... if we're so sure that our relegion is true and right???
So even though I admit that Christians dont read much of the Quran, I dont see why they shouldnt.
Whats to be afraid of???

No. One big emphasis in Christianity is that it is the only right religion. To keep people believing this they do not encourage finding out more about other religions beyond what their religious leaders tell them.

Doubtful that they have much knowledge about it from direct study. Most don't even know the bible; they tend to post what someone else told them the bible says.
