Sounds like a piston busted through the block. Thats a common problem when you dont have oil in the block. The only thing you can do is rebuild the engine or purchase a used one from a junkyard and have it installed. Typically an engine rebuild project should cost about half as much as a new engine. Thats including labor. Ask people you know or call around your city for pricing and a good reference. Your looking at about two weeks w/o your vehicle, but some mechanics give out loner cars. Good Luck!

Is this a 2002 explorer???? or is it14 yrs old??? did you provide proper matinence. do you have documentation of proper matinence. how many miles are on it? and most importantly what caused it??? Did it have an oil leak and get run with no oil? did it overheat??? depending on your mileage and the year of your vehicle you may want to contact Ford Motor Company customer Relations and see if there is anything they will do for you.
