Check with the vet before you give anbesol to your cat. Do NOT
give him aspirin.

Take a look at what he's chewing on... wood? shoes?
cardboard? You should be able to get a human baby teething
ring (I've also used thick plastic drinking straws - McDonald's
& Sonic used to have the best ones) and tie it to a long shoe
string as a cat toy to get him interested in chewing on something
other than your possessions.

There is a company called "Petstages" they make cat (and dog toys)-- the best ones are the teether toys! I got some when my kitten was teething - they even go in the freezer so kitty's gums can get some cool on them. My kitty just loved'em- still plays with them, actually!

Aspirin can kill cats. Leave it alone. Animals go through this stage all the time. It is not always discomfort. They lack HANDS, their mouth is the only way to explore their world. They will get through the stage and move on.

Get a little bit of Anbesol. You can get it at any drug store. Just use a very little and rub it on her teeth. We reccomend it at our veterinary hospital all the time. And I used it on my kitten, and both of my dogs when they were teething.

muzzle (only if you are really serious), metal surfaces, keep kitten with you at all times, chewy toy that you KNOW for sure that kitten will chew on and not anything else...
