well it goes regular classes - honors - AP classes
so honors is really a class that is higher than a normal class but not as hard as an AP class.
hope this helps :)

An Honors class is a more advanced class than a basic or CP class. Usually, the same material is learned but the honors class goes into more detail and moves at a faster pace. Also, the honors class will probably have more homework and harder tests. The advantage of an honors class is it increases your G.P.A. that colleges look at when you apply.

An AP class is a class that is created by the College Board that is equivalent to a college level course. At the end of the year you must take a standardized test given by the college board and if you score high enough it will count as college credit.

Every school treats these differently, but generally they are harder classes that are intended for top-level students. At some schools the classes carry more weight in a grade point average. At others they can qualify a student to earn college credit while still in high school. Still others may give special recognition on a dioploma to students who have completed honors courses. Sometimes these courses are limited to students with certain grade point averages or test scores, while on other occasions they can be open to everyone. Check with the counselor of your school to see what "honors" means there.
