I have actually purchased an breathalizer type product from a Spencers store. It was pretty dissapointing in that it only offered 3 different out puts.

-No drinks or maybee 1 or 2 it would read a Happy face and said you were good to go.

-2 or so and it would give you a warning type face

- 3 or more and it would beep and read the sad face with tears saying that you were in no shape to drive.

Mostly it was purchased to just to mess around with but it was able to detect alcohol in your system and it was only 13$.

You can buy those in many stores (I've even seen them in Linens and Things) . They are between 5 and 50 bucks, depending on how accurate and durable they are.
As for why companies don't make them- they do not owe the consumer anything except product quality. If you're an adult, you should know how much your drink.

No, you owe it to society to drink in moderation. Saying they "Owe" it to the consumer is like saying the gun manufactures are responsible for the actions of a murderer. YOU CAN ACTUALLY WALK BY A BAR WITHOUT GOING IN!

THEY ALREADY have!!! Try sharper image or radio shack.

For a rule of thumb, your body can metabolize about 1 drink (1 beer/1 glass of wine/ 1 shot) per hour.

They're scared of lawsuits. If you depend on their products and get charged or kill somebody it could come back on them.
