I am a 24 yr old guy with lust problem. Basically I struggle against the temptation of porn/masturbation every day. I have yet to realize why God would let me go through things like this out of billions of people. After all, I tried to be productive, moral citizen by staying away from drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex and I got this terrible lust problem.
Some people say good things can come out from struggling against bad things. Can anything beneficial come out of my struggle against lust problem?

I don't understand what you're struggling against? A lot of people have lust I don't think it's a problem unless it stops you from being productive in your life or if you can't stop yourself from doing these things. Like an addiction. It's never good to be a slave to any addiction but if you're just enjoying yourself i don't see the problem.

From your question I wonder if you have decided to give up the struggle. Let me say a couple of things.

1) God does not expect perfection from us. In fact He knows we will sin. What He does expect is that we STRUGGLE against our sin. Read Romans 8. It is breathtaking. It talks about the difference between the mind set on the flesh and the mind set on the spirit. The mind set on the spirit will always struggle against sin but will continue to keep the focus on God and attempting to submit to Him. This person will stumble and fall but will dust himself off, repent, and keep his eyes set on God and the goal.

2) If you have been unable to deal with your lust problem alone then you need help. I suggest that you find a TRUSTED fellow Christian in whom you can confide. Confess your struggles to him and ask him to be your accountability partner. Give him the responsibility and authority to inquire how you are doing in your walk. Sin that is no longer in darkness but is exposed has much less power over you. Knowing you have an accountability partner will hopefully empower you to overcome.

I think it is pretty normal for a 24-y-old to think about sex a lot, and to masturbate.

Pornography is wrong because it you are treating the young women or men, whatever you look at, as sexual objects. You are dehumanizing them in your lust. You are thinking of them only as desirable body parts and not as human beings. This is wrong. You wouldn't want anybody thinking of a family member in this way.

You should try to come to grips (maybe a bad choice of words) understanding that sexual desire and masturbation are normal. But that doesn’t give us permission to think of other human beings as mere objects.

Perhaps the good that can come from getting pornography out of your life will be a newfound respect for women if you start to think of them as whole human beings. That could open the way to a meaningful relationship.

Certainly! You can learn patience. Self-control. Preserverence. Perhaps even the meaning behind REAL love, because the women and men in porno are not portraying real love OR real sexual activities. Don't buy it, don't watch it, and don't read it! Then you will have done YOUR part, and each day will get easier. Celibacy and self-control aren't easy, but they aren't impossible, either! Keep trying, and remember that YOU don't want to have a situation in your life where the women are treated with such disdain and perversion. Be better than that with your masculinity!

yes. God is testing your stregnth. I am very proud that you have stayed away from all those bad things. Your reward will come in heaven. If not you will not get into the habit and later meet someone, you won't have to stop looking at inappropiate pictures. It will be much easier to never do something you'll regret than to do something and try to sto p the bad habit. Have you every tried to stop bitting our nails? same thing. Either way some one good will come along and that hole will be filled.

Actually, masturbation is actually good. Masturbation relieves headaches, stimulates the immune system, relieves menstrual cramps, and decreases a mans chance of getting prostate cancer.

Don't let anyone tell you that it is bad because it really isn't. It's like a miracle drug in the palm of your hand.

I know it's a cliche, but it's also very true that what does not kill us makes us stronger. By facing challenges and overcoming obstacles, we prove to ourselves that we are capable of doing so. You will then be able to face the next challenge with greater confidence in your ability to succeed.

Best of success in your current struggle.

Yes. If you want to be victorious over any habitual problem you will take steps to overcome it, and when you do and have overcome that particular sin whatever it may be, you will then be able to help someone else with the same problem.
