If you take it as prescribed...and for pain only you will be fine. A lot of times patients take it for the "fuzzy feeling". Sometimes they even feel upset or nervous about another situation and take one. Vicodin is an opium based formula in a pill form. Anything opium based can be psychologically addictive. Just be careful. Only you know your body and know when you are in pain enough to need them

it would most likely take a longer span of using them to get addicted. what im saying is, for a broken leg u only take them for a few weeks maybe so that is not long enough to get addicted. plus u really become addicted when u stop taking them for pain and start taking them to get a buzz. so don't worry about it, and enjoy being able to get outta the pain:)

as long as it is taken as prescribed by a doctor, it historacly has a low rate of addiction, but if you find yourself needing more for the same pain, or or the same amount even thou it it is healing, those are warning signs. talk to your doctor about your concern and any family history of addiction (or your own)
