It's your choice, but I would attend the class. Sometimes if you are borderline between a B or an A, if your attendance and participation are good, the teacher might apt into giving you the A. Some teachers grade on participation and attendance. Whether you are paying for school or not, I would attend class. You might need a letter of recommendation sometime, and if you get to know your teacher, he/she will speak highly of you.

I would just go to class. Some schools will only allow you to miss class a certain number of times before you are dropped, and some teachers take participation grades. I agree that lectures are ineffective for the most part, but that's life! You can take a chance on your grade dropping, or you can get try and get your money's worth out of the classes.

Well, if you believe you can do better, than sure. You can make up for the few points dropped by not attending by getting a A on the next test. Most professors don't really care but some might. You could always talk to the teacher about it and test it out for awhile. Or if you can't get out, bring something else to do (i.e. other homework, book).

trust me, one of the most basic and necessary aspects of doing good in college is going to class everyday, even if you dont learn in class, the teacher will often give helpful hints of whats going to be covered in tests, and often tests have questions relating to classroom discussions and you miss free points if you arent there to hear what is being said, dont skip class, its one of the biggest mistakes you can make

You can record the lecture and just come to class and do crossword puzzles or something else interesting - the study later.
