Hey my kids think I am weird too. But it's all about having fun and living life to the fullest. He's isn't wierd he's just having fun and trying to embrass you every now and then. There will hopefully never be a cure for Dads who enjoy life with their kids and getting them to think they are either crazy or weird. So put your cap backwards and rap with him. And you will see tthat your friends will say your family is cool. But those who say something bad are just jealous of a happy family. So enjoy your Dad and give him a hug everyday and tell him you love him, because I would have a crazy, weird, and happy Dad than the opposite.

We used to own an old beat up banger of a car. My sister and I would do anything to avoid being seen in it. sometimes it couldn't be avoided though and if we passed some boys we knew my Dad would blast the horn, wave and shout to them. We were completely mortified at the time and wished that he would stop it. I'm older now with a family of my own and this is part of my fondest memories of my Dad who passed nearly 2 years ago. My sister and I still laugh and realise how lucky we were to have a fun, loving Dad and not a "stiff upper lip"one!! I think your Dad sounds great, appreciate him and learn from his cheery outlook on life.

White guys can't rap??
Give your dad a break. It could be extremely worse, he could go around those guys and act like a butt, insult them, degrade them. You should embrace the fact that he's the least bit open minded and *joins in* the fun. I'm a parent myself, and am heavily involved in several programs my kids are involved in. My kids' friends call us "the cool parents" .. mostly, because we're accepting of today's "kids" and genre, and don't pass judgement on them. It's sad that his actions embarass you. You're missing out on a few laughs with him, I'm certain. He's probably trying hard to get >you< to lighten up. Kudos for you dad.

LOL no there is no cure for weird Dads. Is is probably worried about you growing up and going out with boys. Dad's just get weird about these things. Just laugh at him and lovingly tell him he is weird. :)

No cure. This is his only chance to be silly and he's going for it, if it embarrasses you, more better for him.
You'll live. Dad's change several times in their lives:
the day you were born,
the day you took your first step
the day you entered school
the day someone hurt your feelings
the day you fell in love for the first time
the day you broke your heart for the first time
the day you graduated school
the day you moved out of his house
the day he walked you down the aisle
the day he held your child in his arms
the day you held him in your arms
and said goodbye.
He's your dad, hug him now, while he's still willing to be silly for you, entertain you, and know you are still his girl.

He sounds AWESOME!!!! In a few years, you'll really appreciate his humor. Enjoy him while you have him... He sounds like he's crazy about his little girl.
There's a tone I get from your question that tells me that deep inside you too know what a gem he is... ;o)

he's being goofy either out of wanting to protect you from boys or just wants to seem cool to your friends. try to have a serious talk about it, be gentle- daddies love their little girls.
