What do you think about a person who sat back and allowed over 500 children in 1 year to be raped and murdered, even though he had the ability to save these innocent children?

Do you feel that this type of person is truely evil?

Could you truely forgive this person?

Could you be friends with this person?

Would you allow this person in your home?

Would you allow this person around your children?

*Check back in 15 minutes and I'll give you the name of this person.

This Person is none other than JESUS CHRIST, unless you think jesus doesn't have the power to stop these crimes....but then he wouldn't be all-powerful.

If there is a human being that allowed this, they are despicable. I am interested to know who could have prevented this and did not. (I'll check back in fifteen minutes.) I also believe in karma, so no one is *truly* innocent.

Edit: I had a feeling you were going for Jesus or God. The answer to that is a whole essay. The short of it is, Jesus was not responsible. Sorry.

Wouldn't it depend on the situation?
Since I know that you were speaking of Jesus, I suppose that does change things a little bit, but perhaps I would have recognized that when you said that they knew about it, and had the power to stop it.
Evil does not exist of itself; it is merely the absence of good.
We are allowed to be as evil (or as good) as we choose while we're here.
AND, I take into account the fact that I was abused as a child (I won't say how, or by whom, except to say that it was NOT my parents, and they didn't know about it until MUCH later), yet I don't hate God for allowing it. Actually, I understand why it happened, for the most part.
We can't see the whole fabric from here. Our vision is narrow, our minds are finite.
This means that one of two things is true:
1. We're going to know exactly why things happened as they did when we die, and those who wronged others will pay for it.
OR
2. Nothing will happen when we die, and no one will pay for anything. They'll just be dead.
As I said, we're given a choice. It's too bad that others have to suffer because of choices people make, isn't it?

I could not forgive or be friends with a person who knowingly and willingly allows such things to happen.
If you are speaking in riddles, like somehow we all need to be more responsible in some way...then that is different. I personally try to be aware of the dangers around us and protect my children as much as possible.
But someone who knows how to prevent or stop the rape and murder of anyone children or adults, should stand up and do something about it.

Very evil, I will leave the forgiveness part up to the people who got murdered and God, could not be friends with this person, would not allow into my home, would not allow my children around this person. Could it be a Pope or a priest?

Ick, sounds like a political person

maybe, depends on his reasoning

See previous answer

No I don't have many friends and anyone who would do that is icky(lack of a better word)

Never.

I don't have any children but if I did I wouldn't let a stranger near them.

Let me guess, he's the president? Or a governor/person in high political power?

Unfortunately some people will suffer due to other people's misuse of their free will. I do not know why God allows so much suffering and pain. He made us to His image, meaning that we know right from wrong. He could have made us to be programmed robots, or mindless puppets...and everything would be perfect? He could have been making us like we are going to be in heaven, perfect, without desire to do wrong..but love comes with the choice...and that is what free will is about.

If/when we suffer here we need to remember that He has time, whole eternity, to make it up to us.

I believe that we are here to help each other out. We need to help these children, to protect them...one child at the time. : )

You mean the one that doesn't actually exist don't? Sorry but the only person to blame here is the one who committed the crime. In the cases you are talking about it is also our fault for not removing these people when they commit their first offence. Instead we allow them to build up a lengthy list of crimes and keep letting them loose.

To be fully capable of preventing such atrocities and choosing not to do so would be a sign of immorality.

My guess is a Vatican official below the Pope. The late pope, himself, was too old and too ill to be held culpable for the acts of his inferiors.

It's not his fault, the Parents are suppose to place a hedge of protection around their children at all times. Ever think of that.
