It was in older times for when keys were just on typewriters. If two letters close together were pushed at the same time, they could get stuck and you'd have to stop typing and fix it. This format is the optimum spacing so letters occuring most frequently after eachother are on different places on the "keyboard". Now it's a mute point since it's all electronic, but people had to hard of time trying to convert to a differnet keyboard

The computer keys are arranged on the left side as a typewriter. I don't know who designed the typewriter keyboard, but in typing class the fingers learn the location of the letters and numbers without looking at the keyboard. My typing teacher could type at a rate of 90 words per minute. I would guess that the arrangement of letters is according to which ones are used most often and placed where dominant fingers can strike them most easily, but I don't really know.

I've noticed that, but exactly why is this question in singles and dating? I do not know why they are not in Alphabetical order.
