I have a Sony digital camera and it's astonishingly great, but the best digital camera is the one that complies with this three requirements:
~Has up to 6 megapixels.
~You can afford it.
~You like it.
Always use those rules and you should have no problem buying a good digital camera.

It really depends on what you want to do with the camera as to which is "best". I seriously doubt there is any one camera that is best in all aspects. Do you want something with high zoom? speed? oodles of features? a lot of memory? super compact? inexpensive? Once you discover what it is you intend to do with your camera (what sort of pictures in what sorts of settings) then you can start finding which features you need to accomplish that, and work from there.
