The nine banded armadillo is the only known vector for the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae, which is the bacteria that causes leprosy. The transmission rates are so low that they are almost nonexistent. Recently, only around a dozen US citizens are treated every year. The only recent cases from armadillos are with zookeepers who are exposed to them daily. So yes, but it doesn't happen very often.

Wild armadillos have been known to be infected with the bacterium that causes leprosy (Hansen’s disease). The only cases of transmission from armadillos to humans have occurred in rare incidents in which people ate undercooked armadillo meat.
