You are suffering from a localized skin reaction to the mosquito's saliva, and the result is changes in the skin pigmentation as a result of the reaction. There are some steroidal creams by prescription that sometimes help, but to be honest, scars on the legs are notoriously hard to remove. They do fade somewhat in time, but may not ever truly go away. The problem seems to be worse for people with darker skin, those with a more cafe au lait tone tend to show bruise like marks and those with darker skin can develop creamy to white marks in the area of the bite. The bite itself has healed, the skin, however has been damaged. You can visit a dermatologist to see what he has to offer, but as I said there doesn't seem to be any really good medication for a cure. I work with a lady who has the same problem as you describe, and she has tried about every lotion and cream out there to get hers to fade, without much luck. The really old ones have faded quite a bit, but she is still very sensitive about them. In the summer she wears a waterproof leg makeup to cover them, or she wears pants, and in the wintertime she wears darker hose. The only thing I can suggest is that the earlier you treat the bite, the less scarring results, and obviously you'd want to avoid being bitten as much as you can. Once you are bitten, though, there is going to be some sort of mark left, since you are sensitive to the saliva. I'm sorry not to have better news for you than that.

just ignore the bad itching, mate! I had loads of misquito bites on my leg mostly and it made me itching loads. evrytime i itched it it got worse. So the best thing 2 do is dont scratch or itch the misquito bite it gets much worse. or either buy some special cream from chemists or ur local GP and use it regularly if it keeps itching. Dont touch it after when u put some cream on. Good luck hope it helps!

There's nothing that will make the bites go away that quickly. If they are large & red looking you could be allergic to mosquito bites. Which means they could take quite awhile to go away. Resist the urge to scratch, scratching can cause them to get infected, and scar your legs. Ice actually helps. Just rub an ice cube on the bites for a little relief. Other than that try Calamine lotion. Good for bites as well as poision oak/ivy. Also.... go ahead and dress for PE, if people stop and stare, just tell them you were practicing for the next Survivor... have you seen the bites on those folks? Good Luck

its becaue you itch the layer of skin off and then pick the scab and it truns into a scar. if you put coco butter on them for about a month twice a day it will lighten them up. I have the same problem. its sucks. expecually in the summer. lol. i hope i helped you.
