Futon today, couch tomorrow. They have a favourite place for a while and then have a new favourite place later. You might regret having to share your king size bed with a cat....it might not be big enough for the two of you...just about big enough for the cat.

Why do you care? Surely that means you can have the lovely king size bed to yourself! Though I see your point, while I do love a good futon, I would never choose it over a king size bed!

When my first two kittens became cats and didn't cuddle up together anymore one was the couch cat and one was the bed cat. It was cold downstairs at night so I would bring Spookie upstairs to be on the bed with me and Kinsey. He would always go back downstairs. One winter he did get pneumonia and I didn't want to force him to stay upstairs when he didn't want to.

You may think it is more comfortable, but the cat doesn't. My cats sleep anywhere. Somehow they find comfort in the bathroom, too. It's really up to your cat.

Some cats just have their own preferences. What may be comfortable to you might not be as comfortable to a cat.

because that's what cats do! You can buy the most expensive, plushest, most comfortable bedding for them and they'll curl up on a pile of newspapers or in a cardboard box or best of all the clothes basket! One of ours used to sleep on a pile of wooden clothes pegs in the linen basket, when we made it comfortable (by our standards) by removing all the pegs she was miffed and didnt use it again!

Do you kick the poor cat in your sleep? Mine used to sleep on my bed but kept being kicked off in the middle of the night, she sleeps inside my brothers old drumkit now.

Welcome to the world of cats. They sleep where they want, that's that. They glom onto anything they want. Check it out, your king bed may have a smell. Otherwise, I just have this to say... no man can comprehend the mind of the cat.

Is it near a window? Is it more secluded with less traffic? Is it more elevated? Ive noticed that My cat likes these sorts of things. I purchased a lil blanket for him so that his cat hair didn't get everywhere but He avoided it! Damn cats they are sooo independent!
