Japan always was the lightweight, Germany had more people and equipment production capacity, they both were close enough to a deployable nuclear weapon that had they been able to survive a few months longer they might still be in power today.

Germany, hands down! To the blokes who stated- "besides the shown fact that japan might win because of fact of their peoples suicidal loyalty to the emperor. After the loss of life of the 0.33 reich nazi infantrymen surrendered and gave in." i might might desire to remind them that the Germans, relatively the Waffen SS, have been previous fanatical! in the process the conflict on the jap front, the German 2d military replaced into very nearly surrounded. A regiment of SS (extra or less 2,000 infantrymen) have been despatched in to end the Russian develop. They ended up pushing the Russians back 40 miles. whilst the army commander mustered the SS infantrymen for commendation, there have been in straightforward terms 19 infantrymen left. it relatively is fanatical.

Japan. They were willing to fight to the death, or commit suicide if things didn't go right, or hide in a cave for 20 years or more and still think the war was on and still were ready to fight. Determination like that has a lot of advantages.

The Germans would win, hands down. The Japanese plans were overly complicated, the country was chronically short of materials, had inferior firearms and inferior tanks. They were vulnerable to a blockade and didn't utilize their submarines effectively.

Germany would win because they are continental. Japan is an island which would be easier to siege/blockade.
