Well, I'm not entirely sure why I'm bothering to answer this, because the asker clearly isn't interested in hearing an honest answer. But maybe it'll help someone else think of it in a different (better, I hope) light.
The Passion of the Christ is a movie based on a momentous event in religion; the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus is paramount in my faith (Catholicism). Jesus, being both fully human and fully God, detests anything sinful. Sin offends Him, and it is completely contradictory to His nature. Therefore, the fact that Jesus suffered absolutely excruciating physical suffering with such humility and courage says a lot about His love for us. But there's more to it than that. When Christ died on the cross, He redeemed us. He didn't just die to save us. He took on every sin that was ever committed by humans, every sin that ever will be committed, knowing the full horror of the evil of some humans' actions; He took those sins upon Himself and sacrificed Himself. (That's why Jesus says "Father, Father, why have You abandoned Me?" Because by taking on man's sins, He was even slightly set apart from God the Father, an intensely painful sacrifice for Him to make.) He did this all out of love for man.
So you can see, while it may be physically gruesome, it is something that anybody who wants to understand God's love for us ought to see; it helps us realize what God endured (and endures) for our sake, even when we forget or even reject Him. It's a painful thing to contemplate, but God's beautiful goodness is revealed in it.
BTW, I really ought to see it myself, like I said. I've got it on DVD, so I guess I'll be watching it soon. I'll write myself a memo. :-P

The Passion of Christ was a popular movie because it portrayed what Jesus went through before he died.
