In taking a personality and personal choice test-- I explained I am studying to by a psychotherapist and am focusing on mind body as it pertains to healing the emotions but want to be equally concerned with adding Christianity to the counsel...and had taken and practiced the Billy Graham counseling training so felt I was right for the job. Not so!

The answers to my question-amazing! Tk you all ! Christian experience and training are part of my service- Billy Graham's training-outstanding as he focuses on the Bible and teaches varying ways to personalize Biblical wisdom/quotes in answer to emotional angst. The world has changed and now -via God given intellectual and creative talents- we know so much more about how the body/brain/emotions interact. At times an emotionally distraught person cannot at first heed Biblical advice and must be medically or psychologically treated. The beauty of human design is in its biggest change ever with more answers at hand. And, the medical community is ...now...incorporating prayer and spirituality in the healing of patients....compassion and empathy are being taught as essential. And listening - critical - hearing the patient/client tell his/her story is the first line of defense; the initiation of healing. Insurance companies will have to come to terms....with healing! Ahh!

I guess you failed their quiz. They were looking for someone who would teach their doctrine as they want it taught, and you missed the mark. Perhaps you are at the wrong church ...?

(I'm very surprised they rejected Billy Graham's counseling training!)

Obviously they thought you relied too much on your own life experience instead of the bible to offer counseling? Personally, I think it's BS that you lost the job. If people feel that you (as the counselor) can't relate personally via your own life experiences - how are they going to trust your counsel?

Note that the intellectuals are the first to be killed whenever any tyrannical control system wants to further its goals. They killed the intellectuals in nazi germany, in vietnamese communism, and the black slaves.

Yes churches don't like anything that looks like questioning. You should pray when you are troubled, no psychotherapy. Welcome to reality.

" You think, therefore you aren't" Churches don't like people who are too bright even if they are delusional superstitionists (religious).
