can anyone help me out on where i can download a free virus scanner online?
i heard that some virus scanners "fight" with other scanners, and what i currently have is a one called Norton. I dont know exactly which one it is right now because im at work, but it came free with my laptop to use for 60 days and its about to expire in like two weeks. but other than that anyone?! thanks : )

These are the best free ones choose one. Avg, Antivir, Avast.
AVG is very popular, but i reccomend Antivir it has the best detection rate out of the three even better than some paid antivirus products.
You can compare antivirus detection rates here: http://www.av-comparatives.org/
AVG: http://free.grisoft.com/
Avast!: http://www.avast.com/
Antivir: http://www.free-av.com/

Viruses and spywares are programs launched in the net by people to meet their self intrests. Spywares reside in your PC and spyes your actions. Virus is meant for affecting the normal performance of the PC. I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...! Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

Get rid of Nortons ASAP. This antivirus program is the very worse garbage on the market. Plus it is a resource hog. You can only use one antivirus program or you will have conflict with your system.
Here is a free for life antivirus program from AOL, "virusshield", powered by Kaspersky Labs Russia. Rated #1 in the world for antivirus detection.

Don't try to install anything for free, this includes supposed anti virus programs, you will have a hard time. Remember, nothing is really for free. If you can update your Norton Anti Virus, that will be better, it's been recognize as one of the best.
