ok I ask m child step-father what do he want for christmas and he said a gun. I trust yea but m main concern is that if something go wrong I will go to jail should i do this

In Canada you can't buy someone else a firearm. They have to do this on their own. Maybe a gift certificate from a reputable gun store so he can go and pick it out himself.

When you say "something go wrong" do you mean you suspect he may do something bad with the gun? Or do you think the gun may be stolen ?

If you think that he'll hurt someone then obviously don't.

If you buy a gun to be transferred to someone who is ineligible to buy one because of whatever reason, BATF consnsiders this a "strawman" transaction. You could go to the federal pen for about 10 years.You better to darn sure who you are buying a gun for, even as a gift.
