I was wondering if it was possible to make chocolate using just basic ingredients. If so, please give a recipe or link. I found some but you have to roast cocoa beans and all that other stuff, I was just wanting to get the ingredients.

This is a handy substitution for recipes asking for baking chocolate since most people have cocoa and shortening in their pantry. It is also less expensive. 3 level tablespoons of cocoa + 1 tablespoon shortening or oil = 1 square (1 oz.) unsweetened baking chocolate.

Not sure what you wanna make, but try using this or use cocoa powder for it. Hope this helps! Good luck!

According to The Chocolate Bible, not without roasting cocoa beans, extracting the cocoa butter, etc, etc.

You need cocoa and you can make a form of chocolate with powdered cocoa but it's like fudge and rather grainy.

It's not chocolate without the cocoa beans.

Ever have Carob? it tastes like chocolate. You may be able to make that at home.
