Ouch, not a good injury for a golfer. Talk to your Doctor. He may recommend a brace as well. I'm 31 and I had to wait 4-6 weeks, but started after 4.5 weeks. I guess it also depends on the rest of your health. Good luck.

I'm going to take a guess and say 1 year. Talk with your surgeon and see what he/she suggests. Also talk with your PT and see what they say as well. I would give yourself a full year before you try to play. The ACL is a big ligament in the knee that needs time to heal.

golf involves turning and pivoting of the knee when swinging your club. for your knee to fully heal you should wait 8 months to a year before playing golf again. seems long but if you try bending your knee to early you will re tear the new acl and have knee problems the rest of your life.

I would wait it out. Go through some intense physical therapy, and then talk to the physical therapist about it. For everyone it is different. Some people train it harder, some heal faster, stuff like that. Try talking to a professional about it.

it's golf... it's not a real sport. you can start playing now. of course the more fit you are the better you play but lets be real. it's golf. it's not a real sport.

but you really should ask your doctor. he did just do an operation that cost i don't know how many thousands. leave a message with the secretary.

Anthony Taurus. so what you are really trying to express is that you suck at golf and wish nobody else would play because you are not good enough to hang in there with the high school team?

I would talk to the Doc about that one. Exercise it the way you probably are doing and you'll be back out before you know it.
