Just because we can't understand how God performed all the miracles in the Bible doesn't mean God does not expect you to use the logic and reasoning ability He gave you. Go back 100 years and a laptop computer logged into the internet would look like a miracle, and just imagine a cave man seeing someone strike a match. We still have a lot to learn, and the Bible shows some of what is possible.

The answer depends on the God you worship. All higher powers that I'm familiar with do expect you to use logic and reason.
However, they also expect blind faith so as long as your logic and reason lead you to follow God, I don't think God would oppose you using those skills. The problem lies when your logic and reason lead you to disbelieve.

Because logic and reason cannot prove God. People argue this all the time but Philosophy cannot prove the existence of God. The only way you can know God is through the Holy Spirit.

It is not God that does not want us to apply these skills to all areas of our lives--it's *people* whose VIEWS about God are threatened by logical thinking who try to tell you not to use those skills.

It's not God but people who have vested interest to keep us dumb as possible. For so long the earth was flat and was the center of the universe and its weight was being carried around by Hercules. Now its Darwin who is getting he flak. I do believe in God but not the way He is being pictured with lots of inconsistencies they themselves are at lost which is which.

Trying to logically figure out how God operates is beyond us, because he is so far above us.
Can you teach your dog to use the internet?
Isaiah 55:8-9 "My thoughts are completely different from yours," says the Lord. " And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."

Who says he doesn't want us to use those skills? There's also the component of "belief" in there, but logic and reason are key parts of philosophy and theology.

God says, "Come and let us reason together..." He does want us to use our sense of logic and reason.

He does want us to use them on Him, of course. Its faith your confusing with Logic and Reason.
Faith, the belief in things unseen can seem illogical, but that's not to say its without logic. There are many things we cannot see that can kill us, such as oxygen (too much or too little), cosmic rays, x-rays, radiation, etc., yet they exist, and logically we know they are there. Yet, I have to take that fact on faith in science.

because in reality god doesn't exist. ther reason you have the ability of logic and reason is because of evolution and the development of your frontal cerebral cortex, which allows that higher and abstract thought.
