Jerry Falwell is a despicable individual, and charlatan of the most insidious variety. His rhetoric about damnation, his unabashed vitriol for gays, and his nefarious political involvement makes him a blight on the Christian Church. With all that is bad about him, I still cannot honestly say that he is the Antichrist. Though he may share many traits with what the Antichrist might be, I think that the devil incarnate would be far more adroit, or at least competent, in spreading his word. Its as Voltaire stated “I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: ‘O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.’ And God granted it.” Jerry Falwell is as ridiculous as they come and that is why he doesn’t have as far reaching of an impact as he potentially could had he been more charismatic and intelligent. Let’s credit God’s archenemy with some competence.

As far as Larry Flynt’s accusation of Farwell’s alleged fornication with his mother, I think it was all just a publicity stunt. We don’t need to deal in such slanderous lies to make Jerry Falwell look bad, and it is unbecoming for us as Christians to do so. Falwell’s own rhetoric and behavior is his greatest enemy.

Jerry Falwell is now a mostly owned subsidiary of Sun Myung Moon's fascist Unification Cult. Falwell's so called "Liberty University" was bailed out by a huge infusion of Moonie Cult Money. I don't think Jerry could possibly be the Anti-Christ, anyway. That would take up a lot of time and, as it is, Jerry is very busy attending buffet suppers.

About fornication, I know not. But Christ did say that harm to no one should occur in His name. When Falwell dis's people for their beliefs or lifestyle, I do not believe that that is Christian, but it is judgmental. Therefore, maybe not the anti-Christ, but a big damn hippocrite.
