Of course Catholics can pray to God - anyone can! In fact, we are encouraged to pray to God daily. (During the mass, there are prayers that the priest prays alone, but it is mostly him being the "mouthpiece" of the community.")

No, using birth control is not a one-way ticket to hell. The Roman Catholic Church currently considers it a sin as it interferes with the natural reproductive process, but it isn't a "mortal" sin. And no, it isn't murder, but it goes against the current Catholic beliefs about the purpose of sex - procreation.

Yes Catholics pray to God directly and do not need a priest to do it for them. Catholics believe that the moment the sperm hits the egg life begins. Most birth controls prevent the fertilized egg, that is now considered a life, from attaching to the uterine wall, thus allowing it to continue growing into a human being. It is not considered a "blob" of anything, it is considered a life.

The reason that some consider birth control pills to be murder is because in some cases, they fail to prevent the sperm from reaching the egg, and instead ends up eliminating it after conception.

I don't personally have a problem with birth control, but if you define murder as "destroying a life after conception, no matter how soon after" then yeah, it can be murder.

birth control is not considered murder. there was no implantation. but it prohibits the possibility of life from occuring, and Catholics believe that whenever 2 married people have sex they should always be open to new life. that is part of the covenant. ( and unmarried people shouldn't be) And yes, Catholics pray to God. Every prayer ever prayed is offered to God . most of everythig we pray about and sing about at Church is directed to God. Almost every prayer and song and reading at Mass comes directly from the Bible for that matter. For those non Catholics who know their Bibles really well, I invite you to come to a Catholic Mass....you will feel very much at home because 90 perent of everything said by the priest and congregation comes directly from the Bible. In fact, FYI, within the course of 3 years, the entire NT is read at Mass.

Catholics do pray to God, not saints, not Mary, and birth control is considered a sin because it interferes with God's will, we shouldn't have the choice, if we are having sex we should be prepared to have children and it should be up to God when to give us those children. It's really simple!

I'm not the best catholic out there, but if God is all loving as they say he is, then you shouldnt be going to hell. Just ask for forgiveness, and mean it and you should be ok. God is supposed to be all merciless, so I think you if you mean that you are sorry then you shouldnt worry. Don't let the priests put the fear of god in you, because that's not what the lord is about.

Catholics have many saints. there's a saint for commute, Christopher. there's a saint for lost products, Anthony. someone taking a lengthy journey ought to wish to saint Christopher for safe practices. someone that lost some thing ought to wish to Saint Anthony to discover it. yet they can make a similar prayers to God. they don't believe that the residing pope is a saint. in elementary words different useless popes were canonized saints. They both confess their sins to monks and pray to God for forgiveness.

I'm not a Catholic, but I have many Catholic friends. They pray to God or ask Mary or the Saints for help.

What does pray mean to you? God sees all, knows all, and hears all, whether you cuss or pray. Birth control is a sin since it usurps creating control from Him. But everything is forgivable.
